ARKEN's treatment program
Kvinnekollektivet ARKEN is a residential treatment center for women with drug/alcohol addiction. Many of the women have a history of long term drug abuse and are often suffering from additional problems relating to various forms of sexual abuse. By only admitting women we avoid traditional role patterns in relation to male clients.
The duration of this residential primary treatment is usually nine months and is followed by an outpatient post-treatment program.
The main goal of the primary treatment is to encourage and motivate the individual in accepting that she is powerless over her drug/alcohol addiction and to support her in taking responsibility for her own life and health. The long term goal is to achieve full rehabilitation.
The main goal of the post-treatment program is to provide ongoing support for the individual in establishing her life and social network whilst also maintaining her recovery.
